WHAT IS AN MOT?

Discount MOT services is a fully licensed MOT testing station. We are very experienced in every aspect of conforming with the Department of Transport regulations.
The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards as required by the Department of Transport.
When do I have to get an MOT test?
You must get an MOT for your vehicle:
1. After 3 years from initial registration. (After 1 year for ambulances, Taxis and private hire vehicles).
2. When the vehicle is more than 3 years old you must have it tested every year.

FAQs
An MOT lasts for a year. The date it runs out is printed on your current MOT pass certificate. You can get an new MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date.
You must not drive your vehicle without a current MOT certificate. Maximum fine is £1,000 for driving a vehicle without a valid MOT.
The exceptions are if you are driving the vehicle to a garage to get it repaired or to an MOT testing station to have the vehicle tested.
Yes. You can drive a vehicle without a current MOT certificate providing you are driving it to Discount MOT services to have the vehicle tested.
The MOT test examines important parts on your vehicle. These are mainly parts that are concerned with safety and the environment. Sometimes you can watch the test from a viewing area but you must not interrupt the tester.
The test does not cover the condition of the engine, clutch or gearbox.

Providing Discount MOT Services carry out teh repairs the retest is free on all category 4 vehicles.
